The story of KianyDesigns.com starts in the local street fair in New York City.

Kiany had been working as a marketeer in a major textile company in Indonesia for almost 5 years. She handles Japan and United States market. She has a passion to learn more about fashion industry - she has traveled to Japan and Hongkong.

In 2001, she migrated to United States and got married.

In 2002, David was born. Kiany became a stay-at-home mom. The passion for fashion was never died down in Kiany's heart. In 2004, Kiany learn more about the jewelry industry thru apprentice with a major jewelry supplier/importer in New York. Learning and seeing first hand made Kiany aware about the trend and the beauty of the handmade jewelry.

But God had a different plan in mind for her. Instead of a career outside the home, Kiany became pregnant and the second son Daniel was born in 2006. With 2 sons at very young age, it will be hard to leave the house. With the help from mutual friends in church, she learned more about how to join the NYC street fair business.

It is not like other states/cities street fair - In New York City, the street fair means closing a major streets. With New York City as major travel destination in the world, street fair brings thousands of travelers and not counting the resident in the areas to sample ethnics food and find bargains. Some fairs even feature live entertainment.

In Summer 2007, Kiany opened her booth in Mardi Gras organized Street Fair. The outcome was beyond her imagination and by the time the street fair was over in November, Kiany had decided to participate in holiday market at Columbus Circle. It was definitely a great holiday season. A lot more clients we met and inquired about us.
